Excessive rainfall over Labor Day weekend cancelled many outdoor activities but also provided some of the best and most timely precipitation of the season. With over 3.5 inches of rain recorded at both the Dayton and Wilmington airports since September 1, our turf and landscape plants now have enough moisture to maintain growth throughout the critical fall production season.

Soil temperatures are still warm, the moisture has nowhere to go, and the days are getting shorter with every passing night. Most turfgrass varieties develop underground “runners” in the fall, so now is the best time to consider core aeration. It’s the perfect recipe for thick, healthy turf and our best defense against weeds.

Your turfgrass team at Buckeye EcoCare is excited about the early fall weather forecast and we are currently scheduling core aerations. When we aerate your turf, it reduces the thatch layer, relieves soil compaction and allows for better oxygen and water intake to the root systems – a trifecta for your lawn. Don’t miss out – call today to schedule core aeration for your lawn!
