The Little Miami and Great Miami Rivers, along with the Ohio and Mississippi Rivers, are as low as they have been all year. Soil moistures are 20 to 25% below normal based on your soil makeup and where you live in the greater Miami Valley area.

We are nearing the end of our growing season and like us, dehydrated plants are not healthy plants going into winter. If you have baby grass seed, a newer landscape or bulbs planted for next spring, please consider giving them a long drink of water next month. While helpful, the recent light showers may not benefit plants with deep fibrous root systems.

Our number one goal at Buckeye EcoCare is to build strong root systems with all the core elements – food, water and oxygen – the lifelines for all living organisms, including humans. Right now we are missing one of our key ingredients but we are hopeful that Mother Nature will give us a little boost next month!
