The enclosed pictures were taken on May, 25,2015 and September 25,2015, which happen to be the two driest months of the year thus far.
As always, with Mother nature in control, there is good news and bad news!
Good news first. Dry soils will help drive roots down into the soil, so unless you have seeded this fall, there is no need to water your turf. The days are shorter and it is cool enough for the lawns to survive the current Indian Summer.
Bad news next. We still have many plants with roots near the surface. Soil makeup, plant species and the unusually wet summer has created a very unique situation for our lawns and landscapes going into winter.
Stay tuned, more to come next month.
