Last month, we reported on near record rainfall for the month of June and now, we report the same story for July. The greater Miami Valley saw back-to-back months of heavy rainfall with nearly 9 inches in June and close to 11 inches in July.
What does all this rain mean in terms of lawns? The proof is in the photographs in this email. Both photos are of lawns WITHOUT irrigation systems!
Crabgrass and broadleaf weed populations are down and insects are active, but the insects are not inflicting damage, due to the overall health of our lawns.
This is proof once again that our best defense against weeds, insects and disease is healthy, competitive turf!!
